Opposite with me, I play every support hero except for Mercy. Not to say I can't play as her, I've had a lot of good matches playing as her, but I just find her really basic, at least compared to the other support heroes.

Honestly, I tend to heal based off the situation. If I'm on a team of Flankers (as we all come across one), I prefer Zenyatta or Ana. A more balanced team is where Mercy or Lucio fits best. Sym is mostly for defense although if we're slacking on DPS I'll hop into Sym and get someone to take up the healing role.

Usually when the team composition is not working I switch to Symmetra. If played properly you can win even on Attack
