The day was surreal, almost dreamlike. Sunny and warm, with the sweet fragrance of blooming flowers filling the air around them, and in her heart, Loa felt a happy tune being composed. This was a day that she would always remember with fondness and pride, a day that would be etched in her memory forever.

Because that was the day that she had done it.

She had completed her training as a Second. There was nothing else to learn, except what lessons she would be taught with her own experience as her new mentor.
She was a Tradewolf now. A Mender. An actual, fully-fledged Mender. Loa couldn't contain the smile on her lips, wide and bright and beaming with happiness and pride as the announcement was made. Congratulations, Tradewolf Loa.

She had Branka to thank for.
And she had Branka to say goodbye to.

In the crowd, she found the ginger she-wolf looking at her with a soft, proud expression, and tears threatened to pool at the corners of Loa's eyes. As soon as she was able to, Loa ran to her, like a child running to her mom, or her big sister, or someone she cared for and deeply respected. Look. Look what I did! I made it! I made it! Are you proud of me?

In a rare moment of unbridled affection, they pressed their foreheads together, feeling the warmth and tenderness of their bond, and oh Loa couldn't imagine being any happier than this. Tears were carefully tucked away in Branka's eyes, while Loa's flowed freely. They continued to flow, even as she smiled, even as she cried, even as her heart both trembled and soared. Her mentor, no longer a mentor, but a mentor she would stay throughout Loa's life. A friend. Someone she would forever be grateful for and forever would look up to.

"Thank you," she whispered into the ginger's fur. "I couldn't have done it without you."
