Oh, yes, once I saw that the composer was Kikuo, I understood. Kikuo is known for composing cheerful-sounding songs with depressing themes, lyrics, or back stories. Also, most of his songs have lyrics that may be interpreted numerous ways as they are very abstract, but give you a general idea of something tragic and depressing. I can sort of hear the somber tones in this particular song, though.

A friend once told me he believes that music created by software programs and machines (basically, not created by traditional instruments) is not really music. I told him, "But that's like saying that digital art isn't really art, and only traditional art is." Besides, it takes experience to handle programs and machinery as well as actual instruments, so the argument that it takes no talent to make things electronically is invalid.
