Link is sneaking up on a fairy to catch it in a bottle... this is the preliminary sketch for it... i figured i've never really done a step-by-step you guys get to see as i go and update it kinda thing.. ok, maybe i have. but i want people to follow this piece so i will make myself finish it.It might just be be Navi.
edit1)now there is some basic color blocking
edit2) i've added basic lighting to the color blocking
edit3) added an idea for a background
edit4)added a lot of detail to the tunic, and some hair , and also did an idea for contrast to make navi glow more. and stuff. err, yeah. i darkened most of it but for the area around her.
edit5) undid what edit4 was, added detail to the background, worked on the tunic a bit
edit6) worked a lot on the background! a LOT! oooh ahhh
edit7) i haven't touched this piece in TWO YEARS! HOLY MACKEROLE!!! i fixed so much stuff. i made the deku tree sprout have form and detail, and a face. i completely redid link's left arm, because the anatomy was absolutely horrendous. i completely redid navi as well. now she's beautiful!! haha. i still have SO much to do with this, but it's at a better place now.

Wow, how big is the original anyway? I love how we can even see inside of the deku tree, and the detail on the fairy's wings!
If you consider this an unfinished piece still, I can't wait to see it when you're 'done!'
