Geez, this looks so much better in person.
Anyway, I really do like Professor Layton. This is my first fanart for it, so it isn't that good. But I like the way Luke turned out.
I just thought it was funny how in the games, all the REALLY hard puzzles were given to Luke...and they would always stump me for a heck of a long time. Yet, the professor expects this 9 year old boy (or something like that...he looks really young.) to solve these puzzles...
So yeah, that inspired this one.
I think he's solving the puzzle with the unfolded cube with designs on it...I hated that one where you had to put all the designs in the right spots in the right directions. GAAH.

I was once playing Curious Village with my aunt and sister...the six year old got the stupid dog matchstick puzzle before the 11 year old (me) or the 19 year old (my aunt)
At one point, I was like "How old IS he?"
My aunt: Like 11 or something. (maybe she wast trying to trick me into admitting a crush)
Then I looked online. He's 10.

Other examples: Alvin and the Chipmunks (cartoon), Disney shows, etc. I'm not good at ages with just looks and personalities.
I just don't think he's a teenager quite yet thanks to a different fanfic (yeah, I have and account on here just to have a break from fanfiction). Plus, I keep thinking that Flora's his age, but I found somewhere else that she's probably older because she's supposed to be "blossoming into adulthood". In my opinion, they're the same age.

I DID once read a fic called "Your Hostage is Yelling" where Don Paolo captures Luke and Luke is just saying how the Professor is better than DP (I'm gonna call him that...despite what that reminds me of). Then DP swears when Layton comes.
Layton: Now, that's not the kind of language a gentleman should use in any company, let alone that of a young boy.
Luke: Yeah, Professah! 'E's been using all sorts of foul language!

Here's another interesting fact when I was your age: I hate solving them as well. It was really hard, I mean it. Dr. Schrader will tell me to solve this, solve that whatnot. Although he punishes me for giving up too fast
