Description There is a pair of them; my inner demon and my external facade.

In a fairytale island made up of polished glass, people have grown detached from all the plastic makeover.

Diamond dust swirl in spirals, nothing settles down around here and conformity is part of the existance as social creatures bound by invicible laws of propreity. There are too many strings ripping me apart.

Yet The Hierophant demands absolute obedience. I call all clerics liars but not religion a lie. I would not pledge my allegience to a hollow King or Queen if it means blind servitude. I cannot break free of habits acquired from my elders but I know enough to not show my true self to watchful eyes.

So I'll don my hedious mask and become a distorted, mindless puppet just to fit in with the rest and soon enough, my friends, we will come to know that even the Puppet Master is animated by strings we cannot see.

I grow weary of my pretense. I find my silence deafening even to my own ears. There will always be shadows where the light falls.

i like drawings that have a background story to them, it shows that the artist actually cares about the way others see his work and wants to help them understand it. and i also like the social and moral implications of the story, they're quite actual, as we are all wearing a mask
oh, as for the drawing, nice sepia tones. did you add them in Photoshop or did you make the drawing like that from the start?

i use this application from Nikon that changes the tone from black and white to sepia. the drawing itself is done with ink on paper. glad you like it
