At first I didn’t know what to make of him, and didn’t like him because he didn’t allowed Gohan to help Videl in the fight [which to this day I can’t get myself to watch again].
Later on, I couldn’t help but love him though...

Omg I know I couldn't believe that fight...
As I was watching I was begging my sister to tell me what would happen right before the fight started and finally she tells me that Videl was going to get beaten to a pulp, and so I just figured she'd get tossed out of the ring and get a few bruises, not brutally beaten half to death!
My jaw was on the floor for like an hour. And yes it was effed up that he did that T_T... but he's just so cute, I just couldn't have been mad. XD

Yeah I hear you. That fight was emotionally traumatizing. In my honest opinion, no need whatsoever to include it in the series and/or manga for that matter. Totally gratuitous sadism and a very disappointing if not out right disturbing low blow from Toriyama.

I always loved Shin, he was my favorite Kai of all time and I always wanted to just play around with his ears and those fusion earrings lol I somehow get the feeling he'd either be very uncomfortable or get rather annoyed with anyone who touched his ears though..
