yep, and no matter how many times people tell you "Just don't think about it, or try not to think about it..." that's the problem exactly: you have no control over it, it just keeps flooding all back
But I believe, as many "sad, stressful, etc." feelings we have, we can also look back and remember very happy times that can make the thoughts go away for even just a few minutes
