Originating from Germany while she was born on June 16, 1985, Brunhilda was born into a distinguished German family, the Bismarch main branch. She is the younger sister of Kanna. Unlike her sister, who stayed inside the castle, Brunhilda was able to roam outside but preferred to be inside to give Kanna company. She was confused all the time why people would come to see her sister and why their parents worried for her so much. That was until after she had wandered into an abandoned building and witnessed actual spirits. Brunhilda had told her sister of her encounter but was told to keep it a secret from their parents. The two sisters lost their parents due to a mysterious accident. Soon enough, the castle became full of lawyers and relatives. They took all of Kanna and Brunhilda's money and legacy, leaving them with nothing. The sisters became shamans after meeting Asakura Hao. Brunhilda had stayed by her sister's side until she was old enough to leave, due to fear of Hao.

While with Hao and her sister, Brunhilda met her guardian ghost; Hina. A Japanese shrine maiden. Where both their weapon consist of a bow, the over soul changing to a spear. After leaving her sister, Brunhilda had traveled through Europe and Asia, soon meeting Yoh and Anna. From the on, she joins Yoh and his friends throughout the tournament. Being on Team 'The Ren' she had joined the tournament to save her sister from Hao.

In the seven years after the tournament, Brunhilda moved to America and became a family therapist. Before Chocolove turned himself in, the two married. She arrived at the meeting place with Lyserg and her husband, not even giving the others a hello before engulfing her older sister in a hug. She like the others is shocked to see Ren arrive in a Horse Carriage and to see Tao Men initially believing him to be Ren. After remembering their promise to Hao, Yoh and Anna finally arrives and Brunhilda goes to the party at the Funbari Onsen with the others. She is fast asleep when the party ends and does not even react to Hana's yelling and only barely react when Anna reveals the arrival of a new guide from the Patch Tribe.

Brunhilda is a 15 year old girl at the beginning of the Shaman King series. She has blue eyes and mid-back teal hair. She wears a long burnt orange turtle neck sweater, with black stockings and brown boots. In combat, she wears a black top with a ruffled collar, a long black open skirt with purple shorts and black boots. She keeps her bow tied to her back. Years later, she wears a dress shirt, skinny jeans and brown boots. Her hair has been cut to shoulder length. Brunhilda is a carefree girl but can come off as serious with a temper, especially when it come to the topic of her sister.
