Description
"oh no, please... don't cry my love."

-
Thomas at her deathbed, not leaving her side.

-
note: i used as reference a scene for 'The New World', this time i wanted something sad and... romantic?
i put it in the scrapbook section because, i don't know, i don't 'really' like it, and in fact i will add a part 2 focusing on Martha
media: hands and photoshop

His eyes....oh dear.

His hair and the orange tints are perfect, not subtracting from the solemn mood while adding life.

Nami...each piece astounds me and moves my heart. You art has such intensity, high emotion and respect for the figures you portray. I applaud you and value your work immensely, thank you for all your diligent efforts and passion.

love it!

hey i have a question, i'm new to photoshop and i was wondering how do you combine traditional drawing sketches and draw on it in photoshop? it looks like you just sketched by hand and just directly colored on photoshop without deleting all the white spots...or did you do that? ok lol let me clarify a little, did you have to delete all the white spots, leaving all the pencil marks, or did you have to retrace it on photoshop? or is there did you just scanned the picture in, and directly drew on it without any problems regarding layers going over the lines? sorry if this is a little confusing but i've always wondered how people made it look like this.

anyways, it would be a great help if you could give me some tips on this

I am not entirely sure what Nami actually does, I personally would love to know as well, however I believe she might scan a inked sketch that she has cleaned up by hand(like you ink the sketch, wait for it to dry a bit, erase the excess pencil marks then scan) then you can open it in Photoshop, correct the boldness of the lines by Ctrl + L and the little bits by eraser. Then if you wanted to, I'm sure you could make digital lineart too if you didn't want to have to deal with all those other steps. Digital lineart is a bit hard thought to make smooth unless you practice a lot & know how to make it non-sketchy unless that's what you're aiming for. Hope that helps at all

i scan it yes, then in photoshop i duplicate the layers, so i have two pictures, then i change the opacaity of the first layer to 50% and i add colors on the second layer... i don't know if i'm clear
i'm french so my english is awful

They both had a great love for music. He played the violin, and she played the piano. Ever thought of using that in your art?

i thought of that yes. I had a few idea, but i didn't feel the 'spark' yet about one of these ideas so... nothing for the moment but i hope, one day
