Description A friend at Zelda Universe asked if I could share a picture of just the hatching baby turtle sculpture, since it's blurry in the other images. So, here it is.

This is the only photo I have of this sculpture. I was so lucky to find it!

This reminds me of when I was in Zakinthos on holiday (or Zante as the Brits call it). We were on a "turtle beach" (you had to pay to get on and only for 4-5 hours; turtles nest on various beaches on Zante). There was a turtle nest and around 2 or 3pm they decided to hatch! a group of people gathered around them and one laid his hat on top of the baby turtles to shade them from the scorching sun (they're meant to hatch at night.. hence no sun) to stop them from becoming baked baby turtles! The conservation staff were on hand and reburied them in the hopes they'd re-emerge after dark. 

so yeh. it reminded me of that^ 

probably doesn't need saying; I love this ^^

Ooooooh, a turtle beach! That must have been a lovely experience!
Aww, bless them. I hope none of them had any damage done to them by the sun. Good for the person who tried to shade them with their hat.

The egg started as a balloon, which I covered with papier mache and then a very thin layer of wet clay to smooth it (and also create some small cracks). I then painted it and glued some sand to it.
