Bad experiences with an editor of a magazine I was working for (and now I work for them again, because I remained true to myself but it was very, very sad and exhausting).

Oh, yes, I understand. When you have people trying to make you compromise, or tell you what to do, or judging your work, it's can be really sad.
If you stayed true to yourself, then, congratulations. It takes a lot of strength.

That's absolutely what happened to me... they retouched my photos without talking with me about it and that made me terribly angry!
I'm proud of myself that I was that consistent but it costed me a lot of strength and courage... never ever cried that much before.

It felt terrible and I hate it. It felt like they "violate" my photos...
I didn't ever thought I would work with them again, but the editor said sorry and was impressed because of my reaction. So they offered me to photograph the whole next issue in my own style without any more problems. So I took the chance to shoot all by my own a whole magazine in the age of 21. I guess that's something not so common.
