Description This photograph came from a study in Rural Photography that served me in my oil paintings such as "The Leitzel Homestead: Oil on Saw" (see my Deviations Gallery). I found this picture so striking and sublime. I especially like the way the reds and whites on the rooftop and on the door and wall alternate in a sort of skewed quartered grid like a kind of great rustic yin and yang symbol.

This shed was built by my wife's grandfather, Roy E. Leitzel, who was a skilled carpenter and craftsman, and served as his woodshop in which he made, among other things, his famous corner cabinets.
