Description I had a hard time deciding whether this qualified as a "portrait" or as a painting of "people." While the person depicted is actually a real person, she did not pose for the painting. Rather, I painted her from memory. Hence, since the reference was not present during the painting of the picture, I decided not to classify it as a portrait.

This was actually my first foray into oils, painted back in the mid-90s. The surface is canvas. I never decided whether the painting was a sunrise or a sunset.

It looks like both.. maybe nighttime just disappeared into the void of the unknown...
It's a good painting, I like the colours you've used for the sky.

Indeed. Sunset to sunrise in an instant.. time isn't of the essence.
