Oh, what gorgeous detail! It puts me in mind of Pan's Labyrinth, it's beautiful. I want to know more about him now!

The facial structure of this guy and the intricate patterns on him set me to mind of pan's labyrinth. I like how the swirls don't distract from the other line-work. He still reads well as a figure even with the packed lines, but I suppose you've always done well with making complex designs work.

it's all about the proximity of the lines... because the Soros are very thin and attached together, it's easier to differentiate them from, say, the curls of hair. Also because they're done more likely.in a way, it's easier to think of them as shading.
