I realize that plague doctors are more of a Renaissance/medieval thing, but the motif has continued up through the ages through Carnival...including during the 19th century. So here's a steampunk version! This mask was entirely hand sculpted and painted. A figure of Death with a scythe flanks each cheek, and a skeletal raven or crow is emblazoned on the forehead. Bot h the bird and the 'glasses' have a clockwork motif. This mask is about 9 inches from forehead to chin and 6 inches wide.This mask has sold, but I do accept commissions if you want something similar.

That's amazing. Plague doctors and steampunk are both very awesome, visual subjects, but I never would have thought to combine them. Your combination works perfectly and, in fact, conjures up thoughts of an alternate universe where the two time periods coincided. Wonderful work.

This is just AMAZING! Im at this very second working on a zombie plague doctor mask for my local Zombie Walk and had planned afterward to develop a plague doctor steampunk outfit and this is exactly the kind of detail and shape i would want for it. Its beautiful.
