The reverse of wallpaper is really good for pastels. It is obviously a soft paper but once you get a layer of pastel on and use fixative (especially if you give it a rub over with your fingers) the fibres tend to stick up and make it rough, ideal texture for pastel. Photography not my thing so may have to limit the size of things.
My theory is that at some point the inhabitants of Easter Island became involved in a cult of extreme perversity, the upshot of which was that they effectively shagged themselves into oblivion. Of course I cant offer any empirical evidence as proof of this.Β

The type i used is white with a raised pattern so it can be painted on once it is on the wall, I draw on the back of it. I guess by comparison with actual art paper it is really cheap. There are plenty Β theories out there about most things but not many attached to the fun concept.
