AMG I'M STILL ALIVE?!? I know I know, long time no see XDThese few months has been absolutely hectic for me.. assignments after assignments after assignments... school was taking away all my precious drawing time ;_;
I have been neglecting my art trades/commissions too... and I'm really sorry for that QAQ But since my schedule is clearing up a tiny bit, I'll get to them soon!
This was done for a major school project, we had to pick a career in art and make an art piece about it. I chose Graphic Illustrator and child's book cover <3Β
This is little Thumbelina, I chose her because I really like doing gigantic things from nature XDΒ
I'm not too satisfy with the results... I hope at least the teacher will like it though

Hey! I like what you're doing with the colors and ripples in the water, and the fish really caught my eye!
I thought that the way you made her hands was pretty cool, and I think you have a real speciality with gradients e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
However, I found the fish to be rather unrealistic in that a fish's dorsal fin (the top fin) will usually be a lot thinner. Also, your lilypad looks like it's made of fabric! Lilypads are also slightly ovular in shape and will have a thick appearance to it. The ripples looked nice, but they would look more realistic if you added more "light glimmers" to them like what you did at the edge of the lilypad.
Overall, I think you did a really good job on this piece. Good job!

I'd like to start this off with how much I LOVE how you used the above view effect on this picture!
Her eyes make me wish I was in the picture with her! I just wanna pick her up and put her on solid ground...
Her dress makes her look like a real water lily! If her head was facing ahead, I swear, I would've thought that she was the flower!
The fish in the pond gives this a great effect of a real pond. And gives us a feeling of anxiety for her... The light ripples give the lighting the perfect touch to this! But give it a little more shading, and this'll be perfect beyond the perfect!

First of all, amazing job!! This is by far one of the most amazing original artwork (that is not fanart)!!
What I especially love about this piece is the use of circles. The lily pad, the ripples, the flower petals, the girl's dress, etc. It makes it look well organized and displayed a pattern. Speaking of ripples, I love how you drew the ripples. I understand that ripples are super tough to draw, but you drew them very fabulously!!

The girl is so adorable!! I really love her dress! Now I realize that she represents a flower on a lily pad :3 Nice use of another thing to represent the flower instead of straight out drawing the flower.

The line between original and fanart is kind of blurry so it's very confusing *_*
