After "The Empire Strikes Back" came out, Disney magazine did a half-serious article about Darth Vader as a father. This was one joke the writer did. Another joke was that he had cut off Luke's hand because Anakin had lost his own hand and he wanted to bond with his son through "a shared experience".He was kind of crazy, you know.
