Prabu Tadjimalela became an important figure for the people of Sumedang Regency. It was this figure that sparked the name Sumedang Larang during the royal era.
Walangsungsang came to power as Kuwu Cirebon replacing Ki Gede Alang-Alang. He then proclaimed Cirebon a Nagari, whereupon he merged the entire Nagari of Singapore under his control. He also united the Nagari around him, namely Surantaka, Wanagiri, and Japura into the Sultanate of Cirebon. Since then, Walangsungsang is better known by his new name, Pangeran Cakrabuana.
