i read the book...this must be the yrr...i know as they remember a creature they took control, they take the form of the creature, but they can't take control of humans...so, why the human face?

The painting is not actually an illustration - I was reading the book when I painted that, and found afterwards, that its feeling transmits the idea of the book. Besides, the yrr can take any shape, also the human shape....I tend to work spontaneous, following no strict concepts.

ok, i said only that in the scene of the yrr attack against the Indipendence (when that she-nerd who is friend of Anawak dies), in the last part of it the yrr remains try to take control of Kate Ann's corpse, but it can't.
...however, the color work is amazing, i'd want to be so able.

Look man, you´ve opened an account in deviantart just today - would have been good, if you had simply asked me before using my work....anyway, thanks for appreciating, I´m flattered - waiting for you to load up some of your stuff, and of course good luck for the contest.

No, the book is about sort of a collective creature in the sea that can take any shape - a shapeshifter! It´s much older and follows a complete different pattern of creation. And its taking revenge for all the crimes committed by the humans against nature - well, I´ve heard that there would be a movie version soon.
It´s quite an interesting book, especially because it´s not alltogether a mere fiction, it contains some really good infortmation. Al Gore must have read it too, I think.

Cheers and thanks for the
.
