Once there were these newborn birds. They were so fragile and delicate we could see their organs through the skin.

And the cat had wounded them. Badly. I took one of the birds in my hand and the bird was warm and the bird began to fill with blood.
I had to take the ether bottle in the closet. soaked cotton with it and put a salad bowl on the birds. It was a cute salad bowl with blue flower pattern on it. They were born side to side, held together, and so they ended.

To heal an alive being is special. Especially the link to death. Sometimes stopping the animal’s life is part of the process.
