Technically it's entirely possible for a character to go through that, but I was thinking considering his character and progression in Last Airbender compared with his sequence of events in Korra season 3, I thought his showing was a letdown.

I'm referring to what Zuko did and what happened to him in Legend of Korra; which practically amounted to getting one shotted by basic moves while not really being able to put up much of a fight. There was him getting on a dragon somewhere later. I would've though after all his development in Last Airbender we could've gotten something better and more.

... You do realize he's more than 90 years old now, right? There's not much he could've done because he already has done enough. This is not The Last Airbender anymore, now it's The Legend of Korra; his story was already told and it's time to let the next generation continue with the next story.
