Description Kyo of Dir en grey. Still obsessed with that band...

Painted with water colour. The lack of proper eraser, rubber or undo-button when painting drives me crazy But water colour is wonderful if you can master it, and I'm on my way.

Comments are more than welcome, as always, the more interesting and detailed the better. Thanks for viewing!

Okay. I took the liberty of watching all of your stuff on a slide and came to several conclusions. First of all, your photography is exquisite, I'm not a photographer by any means,... I suck at it, but I know cool when I see it. For the most part, I abhor watercolor, because I have no control or say so in the medium and I compare it to witchcraft or turning one's back on the ocean. Your efforts to tame the chaotic elements of the universe should be admired. Alot of you artwork is a little on the dark side for my personal taste, but that reflects your inner anguish, which you can use to your advantage in art,... works for me.

Lets get to the point. "Kyo." You were more focused on capturing his mood than you were about technicality. Some of that you had no control over, because this was watercolor. You have a good balance, appropriate use of color. There is a zen quality to this which is all the rage of course. I think a background would of done you a miracle. Maybe more white in the hair to accentuate the highlights.
There is a market for that sort of thing, but you have more potential and you aren't exercising %100 of your natural talent. Slow down. Take a step back and look at work more often while in progress.

Wow, thank you very much for your great feedback! I love how you compare watercolour to witchcraft Well, I think it takes some time and work to tame it. And concearning the darker arts... Personally, I think dark or twisted art is in many cases so much more interesting, it makes me think more deeply than "lighter" art does, and the really good pieces open up new, complex, kinda magnetic worlds /perspectives.
You're definitely right about the background. I just couldn't decide what to do with it, what colours... a dark background would have been nice, but I didn't want the painting too dark either. Also, I noticed painting backgrounds in watercolour can be fatal for the image; I've destroyed a lot of paintings with this uncivilized technique, flowing out in the edges more than desired

However, I really appreciate your critique, thank you again! (and sorry for late reply)
