This is the 2nd Place prize for = IrukaMika from my 'Dance It Up Contest'! yepyep. She wanted me to draw her fursona Min, and in one of the reference pictures she was all Hawaiian and such so I went ahead and did this. ^^ Alltho it was done during exams on Wednesday, so the quality isn't quite as I expected. meh. Either way, I do like how it turned out. And I'm aware that the lil guitar thing is wrong. bah w/e...most of the inspiration is from DJ Sammy's "California Dreamin'" and "Boys of Summer" on my 'Nuka Techno Mix CD. XD lol.

Wow! The colors are really amazing here! Each and every single shade stands out eventually after studying the picture for a while that adds a sense of excitement and adventure. The background is what strikes me as most eye catching though. The ocean seems to be just the right color as well as the foam of the waves. And the palm tree looks so real! The sand looks very soft and inviting. I like the idea of a circular background as well. Gives depth to the picture and adds more for the viewer to look for. Very interesting! The skin tone of the character is a lovely color. Reminds me of mocha, but a bit softer. Looks like real fur too! And her hair color contrasts the fur color but isn't too rebellious that it stands out to much. And the blue of her outfit is perfect to draw in the connection to the background. The design looks authentic as well! Really nice job on this one, I think the 2nd place winner loves it! Keep up the good work!

Loving the pattern on her outfit and the matching blue flowers. Very nice. Colors are smooth and well-blended, I especially like the coloring on her hair. The circular background with the view of the beach is a nice addition too. It's appealing and well-colored without distracting from the main focus. Very nice.

This really turned out nice. I love the circle of beachy stuffs. That palm tree just rocks. But as for the character, wonderfully done. I love her bathing suit. And I like the guitar thing, I see nothing wrong with it.

^^ aw. she's cute. I like this, it's very happy and... beachy. XD I'm at a loss for words at the moment... but yeah. I think the patterns on her swim suit outfit are really pretty. Makes me want something like it. ^^ You should come out with your own clothes line someday.
Anyway. I'm liking the circular border thingers you've been doing recently. Kinda gives yah a small window into the character's world without being overpowering.

I wish we had beaches around here. all the beaches we have are for lakes... I've only seen the ocean once... and that was when I was really little (4 or 5 years old? maybe older)... I went to California with my Dad once. that was a long time ago. anyway. XD

Yea. I agree. Despite how hard it is to do a circular border, they give a softness to the piccu. I have some other shapes and designs I've done and have planned too. Even one for Cross, well maybe. He's somewhat sketched. ahk. x.x I'm like 75% surrounded by beaches. all of Florida but one side is oceans. lol. I've only seen mountains once too. so I guess it's the other way around for me, and seeing as I live in "Lake County"...I see lakes all the time. XD lmao. Thanks Marie!! n.n
