Description [EDIT] Took a photo, instead of scan, so show comparison. [/Edit]

Figured there's a few who'd want to see this.

The reason why I have yet to post up another commissioned piece (I have 2 done atm) is that in honour of my contest being over in 2 days, I've been needing to make Sonar a new reference. This is the start of it, not much eh? lol. It's drawn super huge on the cardstock, so the full on reference when done will probably span 3-4 pages.

I decided to post this to show that I'm not inhuman or godlike when it comes to anatomy. Despite hating it in highschool, I now use the sort of manican (sp?) body frames on most pieces I struggle on. I draw circles for EVERY major joint in the body (and boobs lol), to follow and have a natural roudness. I still need to learn how to do it for hands/fingers, but that's another day.

My only issue at this moment is deciding what to do with the new reference...I think having an an entirely different image for her fur patterns may be pointless since no one really ever draws her in different clothing than I do anyways.

So I may just draw her as is with the clothing I'm most comfortable with (in all 4 forms) to keep things simple? I plan to have full frontal images of - anthro, kemonomimi, animal and now dragon.

Critique is welcome, as I still need to make up my mind what I'm doing with it.

wow.. the anatomy looks great. i'm especially fond of her legs for some reason. i think it's because they look so muscular... or something. and i like where you've got her ears placed.

it looks great, either way!

Ah! So I'm not the only one who uses a stick figure with circles to create my references/poses! XD I used to draw by detail, and everything would get out of porportion and look HORRIBLE. XD That was like- about 5 years ago though. X3

Oh crap, I should try to draw/finish my entry tonight. XD I'm leaving for my family camp tomorrow and I doubt they have a scanner anywhere nearby. XD The place is in the mountains, so internets are very limited, I'm assuming. X3

I used to do the same thing XD then i learned how much better things look when you use the "stick figure" first ^^

Thanks! And even I still need a lot of work too, it's taken me many years to get this far in learning from trial & error.

That's true. *3* I need practice more but is hard to keep them in good body figure.

Well, when I make a reference, I usually draw partially in the nude, so that you can see all of the markings, and then the clothing choices are on the side, as if they are on a hanger or something of the sort[But, really, just floating in spaacee~]

Also, a good idea for clothing ideas, is maybe to draw a bunch of small little Sonar, and have the clothes on them, to the side. o:

The option I may go for is, drawing everything as is (the usual outfit or design) and do a small stick figure-like front and back view of her just in case. I was actually thinking of doing a "doll" and having clothes to the side, but the stuff she wears is tailored to the wings and tail, so it may get confusing. D: Thanks a bunch fo the input tho, I won't work on it until I get some more ideas. :3

Ahh, I see. :3

Though, I'm sure that people could have enough imagination to simply take the alterations for the wings and tail out if they aren't going to draw them. o:

Oh! It'll be open until midnight on the 12th, so you still have time. lol. But yea, now that I've introduced Sonar as a kemonomimi and dragon & otherwise male or female for all forms, I think making one BIG reference of all of them is due - instead of linking to a million different images. lol. Can't make up my mind if I should just draw her with the clothing I like or making a "naked" version for her design? .-.

That is going to be one HUGE image. But it would be a very good ref.

Hmm.. you could do both... just do whatever is easiest for you..

though naked you can see the markings better I would suppose.

OH it's done BTW, I just sent you a note
