Wanted to try a redish black color scheme... Since I'm usually about cooler colors or just a typical grass and sky. X'D

Well this is just awesome, and it really fits the end of the world feel. I'm not sure about the ball in the sky, is that like a darkness of sun?
Either way I've never seen this character before, regardless this looks like it could even be a Page in a Manga. But man for fan art you blew whatever character it is up and personal.
Your bg really sets the mood, and those colors are very eye catching. Truly an awesome fan art indeed. But, it's so detailed and crisp it itself could actually be the original al character design!

Haha though I really like how this character came out, I have to say I simplified him a loooooot. In the game he's glowing everywhere since he has this "made from rock with fire coming out of some cracks" kind of thing going on lol.

X'D and omfg, I'm a dummy, I thought it was a sun, but now that you mention it, and the hellish feel, lmfao...A dark sun? Really Dan? REALLY? lol. You can smack me mom it's okay, you haven't given me my bed time for today yet <3 lmfao.
And I'm glad to hear you like how it came out. And I looked up the character and I see the cracks, and fire you are talking about, almost like volcanic. But, I really like your colorful design. It really pops out at yah, and you are drawn to view all the colors, and even try to see the differences in layers of shading. But again, fantastic work mom!
And honestly, I really like your simplified version in contrast to the original design, it really is like a "woah, here I am!" Kinda feel. And the darkness of the claws is awesome. It really captures the hellish view I believe it was set out to do.
But again dude, you pull off some amazing stuff, and I don't know how you make it so eye catching, but man you do, and you present it fabulously mom ;3.
