Excerpt from my senior project "Voices of the Holocaust"Holocaust Witness: Dallas Peyton
Born in Tuscon, Arizona and a member of the 70th Armored Infantry during WWII
He was a member of one of the troops liberating Dachau, a concentration camp. He remembers a scene vividly,
"One, when we were approaching, we saw a trainload of prisoners. Turned out they weren't prisoners. It was a trainload of bodies that had been sent to Dachau from Buchenwald, I presume to be, to go to the furnaces, ovens, of Dachau. That's a presumption."
