Description a picture that i sketched while thinking about all the stories of war i've heard from my family. it doesn't do the horror any justice, but i don't think any art can (at least not by some spoiled brat like me..).

Thats a wonderful piece,

The colors and the composition are really attractive !

And the figurated fall of the story into chaos -a chaos that's still livin' in memories- this is great

despite that many of your other works are much darker,
the terror she exudes is quite chilling;
also, the architecture gives a stability, despite also forming a backdrop which feels almost like a vortex to me,
sucking her in
to a reality whose horror we can only imagine

Love it, especially the thought that you used to work with it. I can relate, I hear the same stories, it sucks but I guess it doesn't click in so much with us. Adding you to my friends list

Oh, dear G-d, my family went through this horror too. I don't think this colorful beauty represents what truly hapened, though.

was your family directly affected by the second world-war?

when my grantpartens tell me their experiences, i wonder how they survived and were able to live a normal live afterwards.

the hungarian side of my family is jewish, so most of them were killed.. and the ones that survived have gruesome experiences. the polish side didn't suffer as badly, but some were prisoners of war and things. so yes, very affected. i think it takes generations to get over, literally.

Beautiful. I love the angle especially.
It's true; none of us can really understand. It seems rather sad, like a slight against those who lived through it. But then you think about it, and it's really not that sad.

its beautiful and poignant, its a very important message youre conveying and respect to you for actually taking it on instead of ignoring it and dissapearing into a fantasy world like many people here, myself included! the way you use the surreal and fantasy elements to make something symbolic and with a real message is fantastic, well done!

wow.. that comment made me really happy. that is what i want to do, use fantasy/sci-fi/surreal elements to convey things that have bearing on the real world too. i think you know what i mean. many thanks <3.

Your artwork is always so inspiring. You did a wonderfull job with composition, sense of motion and expression on girls face. I think just the placement of the hand in the image speaks a lot.

I'm sitting here sorting through the imagery, and am very intrigued. She's falling, confused, lost, into a kind of arcaded hall. I'm a little lost on some things like the feathers and the candle-holders, but this is quite a beautiful image, the colors are fantastic as is the face of the girl

feathers and golden candleholders represent culture and prosperity going to hell.

as an american, I burn that feeling intomyself every goddamn day of my waking life, and then some while I sleep. meh some more so then others. the feeling of helplessness, trapped, weightless, massless, ineffective in struggle.. if this was what you wished to capture, this is what you've conveyed to me. I find this very compelling. What is important is that you remember. Not just that particular lesson, but what we are still capable of, so we can avert disater in the future. Try to remember.

i think alot of americans don't quite grasp it, that it was real. i got the stories from mom who was in berlin. i don't grasp it but i know it was real. cool painting.

i don't know a lot of americans, so i wouldn't know.. but here in europe i think it is a very real part of our heritage; still it's hard for the young people to understand fully. i know i can't.

great work

and it's true, the whole thing called "war" can't be fully understood by people who never experienced it... we should be a bit thankful that we are not living in a time of a world-war...

we are living in horrible times too, though. i think forty years from now maybe we'll look back and think "why the hell didn't we do more?"

thanks.
