She didn't have to be in the war to feel the effects of it. The war shook everyone no matter where you were from or how you were involved. Even the Exiles could not escape the bloodshed that this war had brought along. So much sorrow; so much pain; so much death. Even if she had very little emotional connection to the Bachelors, Niya felt her heart reaching out every time she saw someone returning, hardly able to walk due to their injuries. Some looked better than others... and some never returned. She could only hope they were ok, that they had found refuge somewhere and were healing before they came back... though deep inside she knew the truth. Death - it had reached everyone, even the strongest of them. It seemed no matter who you were, you could not escape the touch of death in the time of the war. What about her family? Had they been overtaken as well? Were they morning with loss? Were they praying to the Unicorns to heal a loved one? Oh she only hoped they were alright! If they had been hurt she... well she'd never be able to forget it.

When news finally reached her that they had not won nor lost the war - that it had come to a painful stalemate - her heart sunk even more. That meant the war wasn't over... no, it had only just begun. The battle had been fought but it was only the beginning. What would happen now? What would become of those who remained? How many would be able to fight ever again, let alone when it came time for the next battle? These questions and so many more swirled around in her mind, filling her with a dread of the future still to come. When would it be over?

So.... yeah this was actually completely random and unplanned. Today I just got sudden inspiration to do a detailed painting... and than we got this. There really is nothing else to it... honestly. I was bored and so decided to paint. In the end, when it was done, I didn't even have a title for it. Soooo I decided to use it as Niya's "war reaction" picture. Seeing as she came to be here in CW after the war was over, I have wanted to do a picture and describe her basic thoughts on the war. It's kinda ramblly in the end.. but oh well, I like rambling sometimes. Um.... yep, that's about it. I used a grid system to draw the sketch and the shading was also heavily referenced, so I shall credit the owner of the stock below. Other than that... that's all. ^^
