Winter solstice nightmare
Shortest day of the year
I wake up so short of sleep
Short-sighted blurry giants
Have broken my bones
And spat me back in my bed
To bleed
Short-changed with broken nightmares
Brought on by long-acting drugs
I clasp at my scrunched up sheets
Missing my water by half an inch
Falling back into fragmented sleep
I re-live the longest torture of my life
In spurts of pain and fright
I'm short on air, kicking off the giants
I'm swimming through an unwinnable fight
Broken, rolling, just wanting out
Of the longest night of my life

I love the concave stomachs and the forlorn look on the face of the two creatures in the background. Has the look of a family portrait of demonic proportions.
