Mariachi are musicians, Spanish/Mexican or Latin people, who play stringed instruments!
El Mariachi is a film by Robert Rodriguez.
The film is about a Mariachi who gets caught in the middle of gang violence, because he carries a guitar-case. The gangs carry the same kinda guitar-cases, with guns in them. El Mariachi is mistaken for being a gang member, hes a good guy and has to defend himself and the townsfolk! Its a good film!

I mentioned it, cos your character has a guitar with handle of a rifle, or something like it. Also I watch a lot of films, not into real-life guns.
