My computer is driving me insane....Photoshop runs so slow I spend half the time just waiting for it to verrrry sloooowly looooad and saaave. I already bought a new one, but since I ordered just before Chile's Independence Day, the lovely gentlemen from the store decided to go partying instead of having it ready on Friday. Bad timing on my part, of course, but...And the fact that Luka gave me SO much trouble just ticked me off...Look at her, she's not even in a complicated pose or anything, but I always have trouble with her head (especially the eyes)...
I think I need to draw someone else for a change, maybe Kaito or Gumi.
EDIT: Got secong place in #Kamui-Gakupo-Fans's contest. Honestly, I am bit dissapointed, haha.

Hm, I never did use Gimp for more than five minutes. Nowadays I mostly use Paint tool Sai to do most of the art. Since Sai hates big big files, I put together the more complicated pictures in Photoshop. I sometimes also use ArtRage Studio-

ArtRage is good for creating artsy looking backgrounds, since it imitates oil and acrylic paints, stickers and glitters and whatnot. Not as good for making anime style art, though.
Mine came in a bundle with my tablet, so I didn't have to spend extra for it. Still, it's not that expensive, compared to Photoshop.

Yup.
Usually they come with one of two full programs, and some demos for other stuff. My Wacom Intuos Pro tablet (my pride and joy XD ) came with Photoshop Elements, Anime Studio and some other stuff. I think ArtRage 3 came with my previous tablet.

Favorite program or favorite tablet?
As for programs, I like SAI the best, although it's pretty limited. Since I don't care about photo manipulation, it works pretty well for my needs, and the license it's pretty affordable. The one thing Photoshop has (and SAI doesn't) that I like using is personalized brushes (Using Brush Preset with an image to make your own brush). I mostly use Photoshop to put together the pages of my comic, but I'm pretty sure I could do that in other program like Anime Studio, for example.
When it comes to tablets, I've only tried Genius and Wacom. I got fed with my last Genius tablet I had because it didn't work too well with my Win 8.1 laptop. Genius tablets are really cheap, but low quality.Β On the other hand, perhaps the Wacom Intuos Pro is a bit too much if you don't expect to use it in a professional capacity. I love it, but it's kinda pricey.
I also have an Intuos Pen Small to carry around, and it's good quality and not as expensive as the Pro line. I'd say it's a good midway point.

Thank, I'm glad you liked it. Drawing the comic has definitely helped me when drawing Luka, though. I'm finally getting to the point I'm satisfied with the way she looks in my drawings.

These two as a couple is starting to grow on me. I usually prefer GakupoxRin, but... the way you draw Gakupo and Luka together is so much different than what I usually see... It's changing my perspective a bit.
Oh well, everyone knows that Gakupo belongs to ME. JK
Great picture. The petals are great and so is Luka's dress and Gakupo's cape. *wants* And I stil can't get over how awesome Gakupo's lashes are... maybe it's just the way you draw them, but they're so... dyanamic. *giggles*

I kinda like Gakupo and Rin, but more platonic/one-sided i.e Rin has a crush, and Gakupo doesn't notice (or doesn't want to notice) what's going on. But GakupoxLuka is definitely my OTP.
Hehehe, some people find Gakupo's eyes (as I draw them) freaky. I'm glad someone sees the appeal XP

I think I just like GAKUPO, so I have a tendancy to pair him with everyone (not all at once, of course) but I kinda have phases as to which pairing is my fave.
I've always liked things that are a little different. I just feel like they add intensity when they're drawn that way. Today in my 6th period I tried to draw Gakupo with those eyes... needless to say, it didn't turn out anyhwere near as good as yours but I felt like it added more drama to his complexion than the way I'd been drawing him before. Oh well, I'll keep experimenting.

Meh, looks decent to me! Regarding the eyes, it may just be that her hair frames them oddly so they stand out more than they would otherwise. But once again I love how you draw hair, all flowing with separate strands.

How long...Depends on whether I have something else to do on the afternoons, really. But no less than a week per page, probably. (Just think that mangakas in Japan do 15 pages or more a week for shonen series XD )
