Description
My latest work, and, one of my proudest, I think. I love the way it turned out, especially the logo on the left and how it fades from left to right. The lighting (read: NOT Lightning) in this one is my favorite aspects.
It's a pain in the ass to get high quality versions of the team logos out there, especially things like the script logos, as shown in here. It's best to take an image of the logo, vectorize it (more convert it to a high-quality vector) and export it as a high-res .PNG, and make it transparent. The result is wonderful, I'm glad I was able to make the text logo as big as that.
I was concerned with and pondered over the logo placement in this one. Originally I was going to have the alternate logo (the one with Florida behind the lightning bolt) in the background by itself under the script logo, but then I thought it would be neat to have an image from their championship victory (with Vincent Lecavalier hoisting the Stanley Cup, no less!) in there, which really improves this, I think. I really wanted to have the alternate logo in there, so I just blew it up and made it fill up most of the right side of the image, but that didn't look so good, so I stuck it above the script.
And, for the hell of it, the year they won the Cup for good measure. I love the old Lightning's logos they used from that era, and it wa very fun for me to make this piece.
Just a thought, I might start making yearly championship wallpapers and compile them in the future. But only time will tell.
Anyway, here's a version without the 2004 Championship theme to it: i.imgur.com/EK3sV34.png
