Description
Well after a lot of work and convincing on Diana's part I finally got around to doing a picture of Naphtali's parents. Mairwen, Naphtali's mother, is the white unicorn peacefully sleeping. Troas, Naphtali's father, is the black pegasus dutifully protecting Mairwen and keeping watch for danger. Well I am actually pleased with how this turned out and plus I actually did a decent background...huzzah! Anywho below I've included a little background story, I know it needs work considering there's no dialouge but I just wanted the focus to remain on the picture. Well Merry Christmas Diana...tis your present hehe

Inorgo’s Dance, a time set aside once a year to honor the God of Equines. A time when both Unicorns and Pegasi cast off their differences to show respect to the one who granted their gifts of magic and flight. However, there were two among the crowd who felt differently. They believed that Inorgo’s Dance was just a time for both sides to show off to one another, a time to boast of one’s talents rather than showering Inorgo with his intended praise.

Mairwen had and aura around her that dazzled as brightly as her white coat. She was highly respected among the Unicorns, wise beyond her years. Peace seemed to flow from Mairwen like the moonbeams from the sky. Troas on the other hand had a coat that was ebony painted, darker than the hardest of coal. He was a brave and noble solider and had rightfully earned his place among all the Pegasi. However, he wasn’t brash and rude like the rest of his fellow comrades. On the contrary, Troas was kind and very level headed. So naturally the two souls couldn’t help but be drawn to one another, despite the fact that a love between species was forbidden and punishable by banishment and complete shame.

Both Mairwen and Troas had taken it upon themselves to sneak away from the dance meeting quietly in a clearing just outside of Innucor, the Unicorns’ haven. Their thoughts seemed to be connected, both at peace with just the company of one another. The night seemed to pass quickly all but only a second in memory. It was obvious to both that they couldn’t leave one another, not when a bond like this one had occurred. Troas made a vow to Mairwen that he would stay with her and that he would go into hiding with her, never leaving her side. Mairwen made the same vow, promising that whatever punishment came, they would face it together.

The next year passed quickly. It became much more difficult to keep hidden, what with patrols sent out to continue the search for the lost traitors. Mairwen was with foal, and both she and Troas couldn’t be happier. However, this happiness would be short lived because they knew that a new born foal would be impossible to hide.

Mairwen knew that on the ‘morrow she would give birth, an instinct only a mother could have. That night as she went to sleep Troas lay beside her using his wings to give Mairwen warmth. He would protect her and his unborn child at all costs.

Morning came all too quickly, and the sky was red. Hope was not in the air…
