Description I'm very sad to say that this afternoon we found our beloved pet rabbit, Gizmo, laying on the ground dead. He had some health problems shortly before passing away. His bum kept getting very pooey (not to sound gross), which I've heard is something that can happen when a rabbit is getting old. Plus there were times when he wouldn't leave his hutch when we opened it for him, which is very strange since he's usually very eager to run around. But it's still very upsetting to see him go. I'm getting teary just typing this...

Gizmo was very special, he was one in a million. He was a very peaceful, and affectionate bunny. I think he and I had a very strong connection. I'm pretty sure he lived to be around 6 years old, pretty decent for an outdoor rabbit.

I will miss you, Gizmo.

I was already planning on uploading a painting of Gizmo for Easter, but now that things have changed, I decided to change the theme of the painting a little bit. He can now live on through my art.

Sorry for your loss, it's a bummer to hear the 'lil guy met the end of his days... He had an awesome owner though, so I'm sure he'd have no complaints about how life had gone...

Much, much better to be loved and treated well than to grow up in the grasslands of the world somewhere... To live to be old, not lunch. And to have a great human pal is all our fuzzy pals can ask for!

Good to see you did awesome work for the fella, too!

Mmm, I'm sure he died a very happy rabbit. And the two kittens we have now are also gonna be very happy.

Exactly. Many people think rabbits are better in the wild, but when they're out there they become a predator's lunch. At least when they're domesticated they're able to live a peaceful life.

Indeed! And much better way to enjoy a lifetime... None of us live forever, so we must enjoy the time we've got y'know?

Interesting that dogs also have that problem. I will miss him dearly, but at least he died happy.

((He was such a beautiful rabbit. I did hope we could have him for a little longer, but at least he can now rest in peace. He was actually the first rabbit we ever had free roam, that's part of what made him so special. From now on whenever I get a rabbit (if I ever do) I'll let it free roam.

Thank you for the kind words.))

((He was. I loved watching him binkying around the yard without a care in the world.
Definitely. Better than caging them up for sure.))

Sadly, thats the way of life. Pets come and they go, unfortunately. I'm just happy that he had the life that he did. He died a very happy bunny. But thank you for the kind words.
