Description Happy, tasty snow cones. Now that summer is over I feel like eating one. I guess I'm a little odd because I don't usually crave ice cream and cold stuff until winter.

If anyone knows where I can download (for free, I don't have any money!) a program that allows me to get rid of the whitespace around my pics, I would be forever grateful.

you don't need a program to get rid of the wite...if you save it as a png file and don't but a bg (background) on it then it should be the way i thibk you want it to be

Cute!

MS Paint is always an option, even though it's really low-quality. If you're willing to pixelate your drawing a bit, you could paste it onto Paint and crop the edges off easily. With Paint, it's saved exactly the way you see it.

I tried, but I think because I have Vista, I have a dumbed down version of Paint with limited options. That's okay though, 'cause I found a whole list of free photo editing software! There is one called Artweaver that looks pretty cool. Thanks for the help though!

Cuuuute~!! I always start to crave sno-cones by the time it starts getting cold...In fact, the boys' sports teams sell them in the hallways on Fridays as everybody's leaving...

As far as getting rid of the white space goes, try playing with the layers. You could always just paint bucket it or do a faded sort of background. I actually think that if you were to do some coloring in with those flowers-- maybe just for practice--well. The sno-cones, because they have such bright colors, would really stick out even more if you took a low-intensity, large brush and colored the flowers, letting yourself go outside the lines. The effect I'm trying to get would be something like a child's coloring job in the background; pale purple flowers would be the result. You could also, if the whitespace is part of a different layer, mess with the contrast and brightness or the hue. If you changed the hue you could make the background a faint pink or gold, which I think would look nice.

Ranty-rant. Isn't this how we started talking in the first place?

The problem is that once I save it as a png. or jpg. the background turns solid white again. Probably because everything is all on one layer. Serif doesn't have brushes, just a bucket to fill everything with. That's one of its limitations. I will give it a try!! Thanks a lot!
