Description I have spent my evening talking with folks about D&D, while working on and gathering up props for my steampunk little red riding hood costume (which will be red as a lycanthropic cryptozoologist many years after the story took place). My geek gage is full, so I am a happy Nash.

Anywho, I took a photo of my doodads, because they make for a fun still life.

Accessories list:

Lycanthrope case (Not pictured)

Magnifying lenses glasses attachment.

Headlamp attachment powered by bioluminescent bacteria (taken from deep-sea fish provided by Prince Dakkar).

Comm device… even though It’s too crackly to make anything out on.

Lantern with (electric) candle.

Keys for shackles.

Teacup. You never know when you’ll have tea.

Bottle to carry extra water for steam powered items.

Vials. (What do they have in them? Silver flakes and dehydrated werewolf saliva? Or ammonium nitrate and zinc, to be mixed with hydrochloric acid?)

Magnifying glass.

Pot full of werewolf salve.

(still to be made) Bombardier gun.

Nice, it's pretty cool to see it done this way. Did you arrange it, or was it already like this?

xDDD
You ALWAYS must have tea when you sport a steampunk costume. It's absolutely required!

I can't wait to see the completed costume Nash! That is, if you are going to post pictures of it when it's done. A steampunk red riding hood is quite a unique/awesome idea!

*offers some Earl grey* Hmm, quite right, quire right XD

I may post it, I may not... I dunno. My costuming budget is kinda small this year, so I have to thrift most of the pieces (I can buy a whole shirt for the same price as just a yard of good fabric these days). Since I'm used to sewing from scratch, I kind of feel like cheating by doing that. It's almost more of a propbuilding project.

In addition, I don't know if it'll even be recognizable. Red Riding Hood is so firmly established as a young girl wearing a long cloak and a wicker basket full of goodies, I don't know if my take on what she could become will fit for anyone but myself.

At the rish of sounding dorky... It seems to me that when thrifting, you find things when you stop looking for them.

You don't sound dorky at all cuz that makes perfect sense to me.
Sort of reminds me of the time when I was asking my parents what a corvette looked like and we weren't seeing them on the road until I finally happened to spot one.

And now they're everywhere. XD

I KNOW!
This Halloween I'm planning on being a werewolf(so people might actually have a chance to guess what I am...). And I wanted the outfit to have big boots. Which made me wonder... how I would find boots cheap enough that would fit MY feet.
I went to my dad first cause he's got lots of cool old stuff.

And, sure enough, he still had his old army boots from Vietnam. And THEY FIT. 8D
(and they're fun to clop around in. C: )
