Description I just can't seem to get to a normal canvass, can I? ::Laughs:: So...here's another in my tiny little paintings, a Flutterdragon (Dragon with butterfly-like wing sets) on a pressed flower petal. Origionally I'd planned on doing a bumble-bee like dragon, but eh, a butterfly like thing just seems to go just as well with flower petals. (And also guys, the nifty feathered border was something : taught me). I'm thinking I might need to find some smaller brushes if I keep doing things like this... but eh, this may be as small as I get. Then again, I can be wrong. I've not seen any other petal paintings quite yet, but petals seem a bit easier to work with than leaves as canvasses, because they don't have thick veins in them. The problems with petals though are that they're so thin and small. So... get a little give a little. I'll probably be painting on some things in the future that are far less fragile. I really wish that the scanner could have picked up the metallic sheen from some of the paint I used, but, well, that's how it goes. Hopefully I'll get this to the Marcon art show to sell.

I paint on leaves, and to strengthen them, I melt some beeswax down and coat the back with it by using an old brush and 'ainting' it on. Maybe the same kind of thing would work for a flower petal?

Possibly, depending on the petal. One petal I use tended to shrivel around heat. I usually prefer leaf and feather painting myself...

I tried feather painting once (on an old seagull feather I found in my school parking lot XD) and it failed miserably. I s'ose I should try again, but until then, I'll stick to leaves. Although, once spring comes, it would certainly be interesting to try painting on petals.

Marvlous! Divine, are only few of the words I can express in typing while looking at your mini-masterpeice! To paint somthing so tiny on somthing so fragile and small is most amazing. You have an astonishing amount of skills!
And the petal fading to yellow really adds an effect eh? Kinda looks like glowing light or fire down below.

Thankfully, it's a relitively large petal. ::Blush:: and thanks Jade.

lol "I just can't seem to get to a normal canvass, can I?" My drawing IV teacher would love to have you as a student. You would be perfect for his "unusual/nontraditional" medium drawing assignments.

That's really neat! Painting on a petal would be fun, you know, just to say I'd done it. And this is a plain cool painting on its own.

I still find it amazing how you can paint on such small things...
Must take alot of patience and a steady hand. Another great painting.
The way you've done it, it looks like it's taken to the air at the break of dawn. A wonderful use of colours.
Well done, again!
