”The scientists of this time keep discovering the most amazing things… like that there were dragonlike creatures around long before mankind. And wingless at that! This fellow called Darwin just recently proposed this marvelous idea that creatures magically adapt to their environment and then pass those adaptations onto their offspring. While there is much opposition to such an outrageous proposal, I feel that there may certainly be some merit to his claims. Afterall, if a man can turn into a wolf, and if demons can run about unseen, why would something like that seem so far fetched? There are more mysterious things in earth and heaven than I will ever understand… perhaps, with some study and further research, I may find that the fantasy beasts that I study may have evolved in much the same way…”

Okay… so… what can I say. If you’ve read up on griffons, odds are that here and there you may have found a note or two mentioning that they like horse meat. So… why would a griffon evolve to like horse meat? Why, because in prehistoric times, their ancestors lived off of the ancestors of Unicorns, the Eohippocorn. Here, a Phosrhasidon (phorusrhacid/smileodon griffon) chases a young one. Yeah... I know they're not too accurate... but I tried.
