Description

Okay, so I'm sleep deprived, and this has a ton of errors, but for some reason I decided to go ahead and do this random anatomy concept page that didn’t make it into this piece   I figured I'd post it before I realized how bad it was or something.

I love it when people give us anatomy of mythical monsters, gives me something to think about.
And it just clears things up.

Make the back legs longer.  I noted that the lungs are about the size of a humans; hypothetically a werewolf would need bigger lungs to function properly.

Thank you, but I respectfully disagree.

So, when doing surgery on a werewolf, make sure to do a CT scan to check for internal variations first.

Yeah, and depending on the form of the werewolf, you'd have to do a separate set of scans and consult a separate list of charts. Makes me wonder if the doctors/surgeons have to specialize in particular forms and werewolf patients have to visit a different doctor for each form.

Not really...it's not often a werewolf needs surgery...usually it's because something's healed wrong or there was catastrophic tissue damage (most likely place to find a hospitalized werewolf is in the burn unit).

Anesthesiologists need to administer a morphostatic agent (kinda like a paralytic for shapeshifting) in order to prevent shifts during surgery.  Sometimes you even need to administer microliter doses of silver nitrate to slow down healing for the surgery, and then follow it up with a bolus of EDTA to clear the silver out once you're done.

Makes sense with the healing powers of werewolves. Poor werewolves and their flammable fur.

Shifting during surgery definitely strikes me as a bad idea, but that silver could cause healing complications later if not completely removed.

Hence the EDTA.

Thank you for this, Nashoba. Even though this is not entirely wolf as you mention, it still counts for something. I can never find any internal anatomy sketches on Google Images so thank you. Have a lollipop.

Such a happy werewolf volunteer showing you the insides of a wolf. Hopefully you won't be asked to do the same for him...

If you would know how many errors once were percieved as scientific
facts, you would probaböly have more confidence about it. Because
overall those errors aren't noticable, if there are any.
And as you state yourself, lycanthropy is to variant to have a very
specific anatomy.

I always find these interesting, probably because I like to know in detail the various creatures I'm familiar with. Errors or not, still a great piece.

Question: why do you like to draw anatomys? I'm not judging or anything, just curious.

Nashoba-Hostina In reply to NickMax02 [2014-11-13 23:57:52 +0000 UTC]

I enjoy trying to work out how things work, and in the case of the muscular and skeletal anatomy, it helps me with my illustrations.

is that mass of tissue between the liver and heart the diaphragm or just a continuation of the liver?

Some canine livers have creases in them, and such is the case with this specimen.

Ah, thank you I was wondering if that was the case. Also, nice work, pictures like this are what got me interested in medicine.
