Great shot, Andre.
I really like the composition in this one. The way all the papers frame the man inside the booth.
Great job.

What a great shot. Wonderfully captured, and I love the title. I can't really offer much to say on this photo right now, other than I think it's perfect.

What a great metaphor for the media. We are so busy looking at the big picture, like the war on terrorism, that individuals lose their identity. The fact that you cannot fully see his face is what makes this picture work. Great!

I enjoy it.

Great capture of the warm reds in this. I also love how you framed the clerk in this shot. You could have easily waited for him to leave the shot, which would have taken away from this.

Fantastic title. Its so perfect for this! I like how there's so much dark in this, kind of really gives you the feeling of what the weather was like at that moment and how the person is feeling in that stand! So much going on, all the detail in the papers and the red, I LOVE Red! awesome.

Can't quite work out why this looks so 'Londony' to me; think it might be the reds --> red buses ----> london
Interesting contrast between the implied city bussle of hundreds of strangers and this one guy stuck in his little booth all on his own all day...
Like the way there's a news headline about the fallout from the bombings in Spain in the bottom left, goes well with the title...
Nice work as usual

incredible use of colour, the darker partsemphasize the red, and i especially love how the mans face could easily be just a face on a magazine, like the girl to the right of his face. instant fav.

I think this is a great shot - I can connect with it in many ways.

First of all your title is perfect - not only is it reflective of the scene you've photographed but it's also reflective of the state of affairs today - how the news has become such a hot product to sell and trade. I love the mix of traditional papers, tabloids and magazines here - a perfect representation of what everyone reads.

I visited Scotland in 1998 and ran into several of these little stands - all exactly the same - colour, layout / setup etc. Some people have stated that they would like to see the mans head - I disagree on that one. Every stand I visited was run by a shady character in the shadows - I think you've caught that atmosphere perfectly here - the mysterious guy running his little gossip mill which is sandwhiched between two buildings

Well done~

love that
the huge amount of news we have to eat every day
the huge choice of desinformation...

i love the fact this man is stuck under the weight of paper
i love not to see his face, like he's disappearing behind the world he's selling

i love your pictures

i thank you

Very good picture! What I like the most about it is actually the title "the world today" - I think this title is very strong! Especially if you look at the newspapers and magazines that you can buy in the shop: Star, Mirror, Star, Mirror, Mirror, Cosmpolitan... Well, is that our world today? Guess it is...
What I don't like about the picture, though, is that you can't see the guy's head completly. If he would be more in the light, the shot would be perfect. But like this he is more disturbing the picture: he captures your attention cause of the white stripes on his sweater, but when you look at him you are disappointed not being able to see his face

cheers for your comment

i was actually waiting until he gets a better light. But no luck, he was standing like that for a while. And it was more complicated with alot of people passing by. So i only took 1 shot. And this is it.

I wish i took some more tho

thanks again...
