Description
I finished the nice spread of the five sons of the Rhin family. They're in age order so let's go:
- first, Hector. He is around 25, the oldest and the heir to the family. He has finished studying history and now is basically the man of the house, since their father has died around sixteen years ago. He seems to not be seeking relationships, but it's forgiven, since he does have four younger brothers. That obviously means he had to partially take the role of dad, so his relationship to most of his siblings is rather distant, but Ranis is probably the closest to him and his confidant. He usually takes care of stuff around the house and hosts parties every once in a while, even though he doesn't really enjoy them. He also arguably looks the most like their dad.
- second, Ranis. He is 21 and currently studying literature and art, which is probably the most prestigious set of studies you can take. The prince himself also studied that set, I'm pretty sure. But let's not delve into all the academic worldbuilding I did. Ranis is rather quiet and calm. He enjoys spending time alone and reading and doesn't really like parties. He is also pretty great with children and generally really enjoys playing around. Because of that it's expected that he will date - which well, he tried, but it's not going great. Girls would usually take advantage of him. His brothers would too, slightly. He does the work for his youger brothers, and he's usually overworked, but he never really complains about it. Overworked baby. He does have a bit of a breaking point, and making him too tired for too long might make him quite angry. If only he could be as assertive with his girlfriends. Also yeah he doesn't really know how to say no.
- third, and the ultimate middle child, Elian. He is 18. And him and Bastien are twins. They don't look like. I know. And arguably Elian doesn't look like his father at all, so people have accused their mother of having an affair. Which might be true, but we'll never know, as well, blood tests don't really work here. And his mother probably wouldn't be able to confirm nor deny this. Unless she confesses to having cheated. Which if she did, she won't. ANYWAYS. Elian is quite loud but also rather well spoken. The only issue is that he's a teeeny bit spoiled so he really doesn't take a no for an answer, and might be a little insufferable sometimes. Especially if he doesn't get his way. But other than that he's quite charming and people easily grow to liking him, especially since he's usually the face of all banquets, with his loudness and actual enjoyment of parties. He's arguably more mature than his younger siblings and takes pride in being the one to talk for his brothers.
- fourth, Elians "twin", Bastien. Also 18. He doesn't really care about being a noble and is rather disgusted with being adressed so. Has already run away from home multiple times. But he doesn't hate his siblings, not at all. He views Hector as a paragon of responsibility and Ranis as an example of reliability. He usually doesn't get along with Elian tho. His favourite brother has to be Maru though, as they just love playing pranks on people, although for really different reasons. Bastien just hates other nobles usually, so he has fun making them annoyed. He actually looked up to prince Aramil quite a bit, and to be completely honest, yes, they would have totally got along. He also has a slight interest in hunting and survival, so at the very least his mother can brag about his hunting skills when people are complaining about him.
- and lastly, Maru. The one that looks the most like their mother, and happens to have some weird recessive hair going on. Probably from some grandparent. Maru is 16. Other than Bastien, Maru doesn't really like the rest of his siblings and doesn't interact with them much. Bastien is probably his biggest influence, so Maru also doesn't really like his family and doesn't feel very attached to them, although for different reasons than Bastien. He hasn't actually met his father either, as their father died before Maru was born, but to be fair only Hector and Ranis remember their dad at all, Elian and Bastien don't at all. Maru likes indulging in playing pranks with Bastien. He's quite lazy and also slightly spoiled, I'd say to an equal amount as much as Elian, but he's less an asshole about it.
To be fair I don't have much else to say about Maru so maybe I'll just leave this wall of text as it is.
