The medaillons were wolf, griffin and cat. She gave the griffin to yennefer kept the cat and i forgot what she did with the wolf medaillon...

Ah so its griffin, I seem to have gotten the schools mixed up bec i was playing the game at the same time lol.

Ciri gave the wolf to Geralt, then he told her something like "you know this is just symbolism right?" and she said yes. I am not sure what that whole bit was about tbh. I mean symbolism? do the medallions not work if they were not yours originally? I mean I would imagine they still retain that magical effect they have as VIBRATORS when enemies/magical powers are about lmao >

The animal in the medallion is just symbolism ^^
There are no differences between a witcher using a griffin, wolf, cat or whatever other medallion, just aesthetic, as they serve to the same purpose and now that most wutcher schools are totally extinguished, there is no meaning there if not the symbolism of representing the school they used to belong.

The medaillion works with anyone as far as i know. It's just that geralt is from the school of the wolf so he likes the wolf medaillon the most.
