He's running and running, and he keeps on running but he can't seem to catch up to them. The two super Saiyan in front of the proud Prince were just too fast. It seemed to be impossible that they obtained that speed and raw power. Why could they ascend to the legendary Super Saiyan but not him? He was the one with royal blood. Not those low class warriors, yet somehow they achieved what he could not. It was infuriating. The elite warrior spent his entire life trying to achieve what they somehow obtained accidently without even knowing the honor behind it all. It just wasn't fair. Hadn't life screwed him over enough, now he lucked out on this too? "Damn it Kakarott! Mark my words, I will surpass you! I WILL!"

Next thing he knew, he was slowly awakening from a dream. He blinked a few times to clear his vision, he was about to pull himself up when suddenly pain shot through his entire body. Vegeta immediately stopped moving and groaned in pain. Finally, he looked over and just noticed Bulma who had been asleep on the desk right next to him. 'Why the hell is she here' it just didn't make sense to him. Especially considering how he treated her not long before the chamber collapsed. Women on this planet were such an enigma. She shouldn't care for his well being; after all he's still determined to kill one of her best friends. Didn't that mean anything to her; or did she not believe he would follow through with his threats? 'This planet must be making me soft… I'll show the woman. I'll show them all not to doubt me. They'll regret it. As soon as this whole business with the androids is over, your ass is mine Kakarott.' Bulma slowly was brought out of her dream world and the first thing she saw was the Prince, she smiled.

"Hey Vegeta, are how ya feeling? That was a pretty bad explosion; it's amazing that you weren't killed."

"What's it matter to you wench. I am a Saiyan, this is not real pain. I know what pain is and it sure as hell isn't this." He scowled at her for a moment but looked away. She didn't want to argue with him because one, she knew his pride and been severely wounded because he needed such medical care, and two, well for some reason she couldn't think of another reason. It just didn't feel right to upset him more then what he was already going through. She was unknowingly scanning his body and fixated on one of the scars on his chest. She felt her heart sink, seeing all the battle wounds, she couldn't even imagine the ones that were visible to the naked eye. She opened her mouth to ask how he got them, but he seemed to know the question before she spoke.

"No" he simply stated.

'No what?"

"No, I'm not telling you how I received each one" he looked away and for a second she saw a hint of pain in his eyes, but he quickly masked it. "Woman, get out of here. I don't need your assistance nor do I need anyone else's for that matter."

"Vegeta if you would just –"

"I said NO w- " both of their attentions were brought to the door that had just been opened. It was Yamcha, he heard Vegeta's voice start to rise and he was worried that he might have or would have harmed Bulma if he didn't intervene. He shot Vegeta a glare, which was topped by Vegeta's menacing one, and then looked softly at Bulma. "Hey you, ready for our date?"

Bulma's eyes widened, she couldn't believe she forgot their date! It was the first time in months they were able to go out and enjoy themselves because Yamcha was either training, or playing baseball and Bulma had always been working on new inventions. But she couldn't leave Vegeta… not in the state he was in. He needed someone to aid him, even if he was too proud to admit it. "Yamcha, sweetie I'm so sorry but I can't tonight… maybe some other time?"

He shook his head and felt a little hurt that she was putting that monster before him "But I can't any other time Bulma, you know that! It's like I don't mean anything to you anymore because you're too caught up with-."

"I am NOT having this conversation here Yamcha. Let's talk outside." Yamcha snorted but obediently listened and followed her outside. Vegeta however, was a bit curious. He wasn't sure why, but he was. What was so important that they couldn't say it in front of the prince? They had done so many times without caring, so why would this time be any different? The couple closed the door and stood behind it. Luckily for Vegeta, Saiyan's had far better hearing then humans so he wouldn't have much trouble hearing them, no matter how quiet they were.

"What in Kami's name is your problem Yamcha?!"

"My PROBLEM is HIM Bulma. How can you be so nice and sweet to that monster, yet never show the same kindness to me? Your own boyfriend!"

"What does THAT mean Yamcha? I treat him exactly the way I treat you!"

"Like hell you do! I see the way you look at that man… It's the same way you once looked at me. I haven't gotten that look in; well I don't even know it's been so long! And you know what I think Bulma?" Look? What look was that scar face bandit talking about? Vegeta was beyond confused, he hadn't notice anything out of the ordinary. 'This guy has got to be on something…'

"WHAT IS IT YAMCHA?!" She shouted in his face.

"I think… no, I KNOW that you're falling for that egotistical, arrogant, and a bastard of a man! And trust me Bee; it hurts a hell of a lot to see the woman I love, starting to love another man. Face it, we both knew somewhere in our hearts that we were never meant to be together, and I know you believe that too." Bulma nodded. It was true, she didn't feel anything for Yamcha anymore which was sad considering how long they had been together. She wanted to make it work more then she actually wanted to be with him. But she didn't agree that she loved the Prince, that was just going too far. She lost her feelings for him; there was no need to take it out on the man in the infirmary right next door.

"You're right. I have known for a while that we were done. I don't have those feelings for you anymore, but-"

"Save it. I've known you too long to know that that's not true. You're starting to love the man. Like I said, I can see it in your eyes. But you want to know what the worst part of all of this is? You're falling for a man, who will NEVER fall for you. He will never love you, he will never say I love you, and he will never be there for you. Not like I have. Hope you're happy with your choice." He brushed passed the capsule corps heiress, leaving her behind with her own thoughts. That was defiantly not how she wanted to end things with Yamcha. She was upset, but for some reason not enough to cry about it. 'Oh kami what have I done. What if I do have some feelings for Vegeta?' Yamcha was the ideal boyfriend. He was cute, great muscles, and he cared. But Vegeta on the other hand, he was handsome, way more built then Yamcha, and mysterious. 'No, this isn't the time to be thinking about this right now.'

'D-did he just say… she loves me? Huh, that's observed. Wait… what exactly is that? Must be some stupid human emotion…' after five minutes Bulma re-entered the room and put on the best smile she could manage, which wasn't much. Little did she know that Vegeta heard the entire thing.

"Imma…ahh… get you something to eat. You must be starving."
Vegeta simply grunted in response and she was on her way to the kitchen.
