Description Wow, I'm so out of practice, this looks terrible. I totally failed at making her look old and skinny.

Anyway, this is a color design concept for the #Warriors-Animated project. We are going to be animating Omen of the Stars. Hence why Leopardstar is supposed to be old and skinny, because she is during OotS.

Expect to see more of these, I think I'm doing most of RiverClan. My lineart skills should hopefully improve as I do these too. XD And they will all be fairly simple like this, for the sake of time and trying to keep it easy for animating.

You can repost this on fansites or whatever, just give a credit to me and do not claim it as your own work.

I like your idea for Leopardstar a lot. I always pictured her as a spotted tabby like this!

If you need ideas for Riverclan, you can look at my clan refs for them. You can see them here: [link] and here: [link] Willowshine and Dapplenose need to be updated because I want to give Willowshine faint stripes, and I'm thinking of making Dapplenose a gray torbie so she matches her official design better. And Mothwing's stripes and dappling is way too faint in her image (same with Mistyfoot, who is supposed to have faint stripes on her legs and tail). But just about everyone else is where I want them colourwise... though Feathertail is supposed to be a DMH and Graystripe a DLH. Maybe they will help you too.

Thanks! There is more I wanted to do with Leopardstar, but since we're doing an animation I didn't want to make her too complicated to color over and over again. XD

Thanks for those! I have looked at them before, I bet it was a lot of work to color all those cats. :0 It will definitely help me with ideas. There are only so many ways to color a gray tabby cat to make them look different lol.

Yeah, you need to keep it simple for animation. And it can be hard to do that with spotted characters. I remeber reading that the animators for Disney's Tarzan basically did 3 individual cells (or something along those lines) for the leopard character every time: 1 for the body, 1 for the spots, and 1 for the details (whiskers, etc.). They then overlayed them for the complete picture. ^^ It sounds like those layers in Photoshop.


Yes, it got a bit hard after a while when I used up designs. The hardest ones to do were the solid coloured cats. Like you said, there's only so many ways to do them without repeating the same thing (except in families which I used as a loophole). It was hard thinking up ways to make Beechfur, Otterheart, and Mudfur look unrelated because all of them are brown cats!!

The tabbies were the easier because you can give them different designs as well as slightly different colours. But I cheated with most of them. I just used Crookedstar's and Oakheart's pattern for many of them. It worked because Silverstream, Feathertail, and possibly Mintfur, Graymist, and Mallownose are directly related to those cats anyways. So they have some family traits!! I might go back someday though to add unique features to each of them... 'cause I've gotten better doing tabbies since I did them.

It was fun, but I have NO plans to do the other clans. Mainly because I think I used up most of my ideas with Riverclan. ^^

Hopefully those designs will help you or inspire you... or something.



(Have you considered using the other tabby patterns for this project? That will definitely make them look different, but the classic pattern might be hard to animate. )
