It appears the front legs have dissapeared behind the tail. XD
I love the background, though; that sunset/rise is wonderful!

72 hours?! O-o you're not kidding? Holy excrements. That's a looong time. I'm almost discouraged to mention some pointers...
almost.
So here's pointer one:
The shading on this picture is very soft. Even living creatures have some sharp-edged shadows on them, like under the arms or beneath the chin. You seem to have done this entire picture with a very soft brush, perhaps even an airbrush... wait... does the category say this is a traditional piece? No computer airbrushing? What material did you use? O-o
Anyway, I would advice you to strengthen the shadows in some places. It will make your picture more attractive to the public. Things that are further away on the creature, like the tail that is swishing behind the torso, are often in the shade of the things up front and are a darker hue.
Pointer two:
The front legs of the dragon seem to be disappearing beneath the tail. It's true that the tail should block most of the view on the legs, but they should be long enough to peek out under the tail. Unless there's a dimensional rift behind the tail that we can't see.
Pointer three:
I don't know if the color change on the ground is supposed to be the dragon's shadow, but that's not clear. Making it a bit darker would make this picture even better.
Pointer four:
I don't get the right hind leg. It seems like the knee is behind the tail. But the foot is in front of it. Another dimensional rift?
Those are some of the things I wanted to mention. But don't let them get you down O-o It's really a lovely picture. Say, could it be that I see some neondragon influences here? The segmented horns and the type of manes, for example? Could I possibly have spotted another fan?

ok where do i start you have quite the book here lol.
so 1.it took 72 hrs because i use a mouse no easy access tablet i dotn have the money fer it right now lol so that will come in the future.
2.i chose the soft shading because i wanted a soft image, with shading but not flat cell shading,if you checked out any of my other piece such as "Apep Dragon of Knowlege" you can see that thats one of my character traits that i place in my images i may go fer this type of style later on but not right now
2.WHICH IS A BIG THING WITH ME,the horns are a def yes as for the influences of jessica peffer if you take the time to read my journal entry's i have said on countless occassions that she is my favorite dragon artist and i def look up to her for her teachings, the horns are NOT the same as the book but i did my own thing with her advice from her new book "EVOLUTION" oh and heres the link to my journal entry that has that:
[link]
but as of the fur that would be a big NO,i started drawing fur like that before i ever had one of her books. thanks to her i can improve lol but not copy my friend, and to note the fact that there are thousands,if not millions of artists that create very similar fur patterns for there wonderful creatures, its really hard these days to create a piece that doesnt have at least one small detail that resembles something that an other artist did...
3. i will be posting my transparent anatomy pic tomorrow because ppl havent been getting the concept of the body shape as much as i had hoped they would,i %100 need practice and gawd knows i know that fully but i can back the anatomy up tomorrow i just have to scan it in and post it...the tail is woven between his legs out the side and around so the back leg is covered for a reason.ill show that tomorrow as well....
4.the shading on the ground could def be fixed up i agree with you on that one, its the first sunset image that i did so little rusty for that
5. i dont air brush just use the regular paint brush tool its just my style and i have no doubt that it pisses some ppl off but i cant please everyone in the world, and if i tryed i mase well give up on my art cause its not happening haha
6.oh wait i think thats all the responses covered to ALL of your comments on the piece (finally)...
but i thank you for your input its definitely respected,i def need the practice and gawd knows ive been doing dragons for the last four years so practice is needed...oh and i REALLY enjoyed your gallery you have some really beautiful pieces in there, and im sorry mine didnt quite please you...

Oh nonsense, it's a wonderful piece. I just happen to be a person that points out every little thing and then whines about it, don't mind it much X) There's definitely things in this picture that I admire, like the head of the dragon. The whiskers and tufts of hair on the ears are awesomely done. Personally, If I have a long, thin shape like that, I always seem to mess up at one point, but you seem to be able to do such curvy shapes with ease.
Oh, and I wasn't implying you were copying neondragon ^^ I just asked if there were any influences. I agree with you that it can be very hard to think of someone nobody has ever done before.
The anatomy pointers were just little things, but even though you say the shading like this is a character trait, I would still think about making it a bit stronger in some areas if I were you... It makes the picture less flat. But again, it's only a hint. You don't have to do so if you don't want to ^^
And again this is starting to turn out a long-ass comment :/ So I'll finish it here with another "kudos to you" ^^

Little lily dragon says thank you ^^ It seems more people think that O-o That kind of came as a surprise, Personally I don't think it's all that special, but meh, apparently people think otherwise.
And Good Luck with the next piece ^^ I'll be looking forward to it.
