I read about people referencing the 60's, 70's, 20's, but timeless is the word that comes to mind when I look at this photograph. It could have been photographed yesterday as well as fifty years ago, it doesn't really remind me of any particular era. The expression and the shadowplay are everything here, and can account for the mood the photograph exudes.

this is beautiful.. it has that very old, classic look to it. it reminds me of work done by the photographer Van Leo.. i think he was turkish and he would take the most amazing glamorous photos of Egyptian and foreigh actors around the 40s and 50s...

this is very lovely. it's grainy and moody, like a french realism film. her expression is slightly nostalgic or contemplative. i like the soft contours created by the light. if i could suggest a minor edit, it would be to remove the dark spot at the bottom of the frame under her chin. it appears like it might be her wrist watch or something, but since the dof is so short, i don't think we'd miss it if it was gone.
