I like your trio. When I saw Hermione's expression, I thought, 'What has Ron done now?' He doesn't seem to mind too much so maybe they're close to making up and making out, ha!
Harry looks chagrined to me, 'Here we go again. They love each other, just here they go again. I'm staying out of it, thank you very much.' BTW, love the beard-age on Harry.

It is hard to make characters older looking, and you've done a splendid job! I love their hair and facial expressions!

Not exactly how they're described in the books, but nice expression and execution. I quite like Harry's scruff.

Oh my God, I am so, so sorry. I am so stupid! What was I thinking writing my own opinion about something and not adding "in my opinion" after every word. Stupid, stupid me! Just one use of "but for me". So rude. Also, I'm sorry, next time I'll remember to write to J. K. Rowling and ask what's her approach to the problem, and survey every reader of the book about my point of view.
But seriously, it's just a fan's opinion , for me Hermione's super smart and super talented, she's not perfect but still... she's pretty cool. Do you really have to participate in some kind of a tournament to prove your value?

No need to apologize. One thing I really hate is having to say "in my opinion" after everything, so I sympathize entirely. Sometimes I want to snarl, Snape-style: Of course it's my opinion! Who else's opinion would it be?
Mostly I was just snarking at the "most powerful witch/wizard in the world" trope that we see so often in fandom, usually with reference to Dumbledore. It's not a matter of proving your worth, but of not knowing that there aren't a couple dozen (or a couple hundred) witches scattered over the entire magical population of the planet who are more powerful than one talented schoolgirl in Britain. Maybe there's a fellow working in my office who really is a better golfer than Tiger Woods, but no one knows that (including my co-worker himself) unless he's out there winning tournaments. Besides, the idea of wizarding play-offs to determine "the most powerful wizard in the world" or "the darkest wizard in history" tickles me. I actually put a reference to that into a story I was collaborating on once, but the author decided not to use the section where it appeared.
My own opinion of Hermione is that, in terms of magical power she at the upper end of average, while her skill, knowledge, and hard work allow her to get more out of her magic than sloppier and stupider people with more raw force. Her intelligence is decidedly above average and she has an extraordinary memory, but more important is the fact that she values knowledge and works at being smart. By contrast, Harry isn't stupid, but he might as well be because he's intellectually lazy. It's no good having brains if you don't bother using them. One must also bear in mind that Hermione is only in her teens. Nobody is the most powerful witch in the world at that age. But when she's in her thirties she's going to be really impressive, and when she's in her sixties she'll be knocking 'em dead at the World Wizarding Play-Offs.

I guess you need a wider context or an explanation of what I had in mind writing this. So, when I say that my cat is the best cat in the world I don't need him to prove it in a competition, and I am fully aware that there are "trillions" of other cats living on our beautiful planet. Can you question my cat's awesomeness? Sure! Will you? That's a different question.
Greatness, beauty, power - it's all subjective and arbitrary. You can measure the power of a battery, with people it's much more complicated and the criteria often change. Of course I don't know all the other existing wizards, I just have her story, I like her, I know that she has a nice backup and she's really powerful. That's it.
Besides, there are opinions and opinions. It's not a critical or scientific opinion supported by any data, it's more like an opinion which you express after you read a book that you really enjoyed and your first impression is: wow, this is the most interesting book in the world!
I think I should use word "probably" more often.
Anyway, thanks for your comment, I really appreciate that you shared your point of view with me. I agree with you in many aspects but, to be honest, I hate tournaments because some qualities are just immeasurable. Also, competitions will always show only half of the picture.

That's what makes the idea of World Wizarding Play-Offs so delightfully goofy.
