Okay so this is a scene from transformers the movie, and i thought i'd give a 'proper' comic a go, seeing as i dont practice doing layouts enough....So its not the greatest it could be, i mean prime should have more hip twist in the final frame, stuff like that, but i'm just happy to have tried to capture one of the greatest scenes in an animated movie ever...The fight between prime and megatron...
I might redo certain details before i ink it, and i might work backwards and get the whole fight done..that would be uber cool...
what do you guys think?

that whole scene with prime seeing the ghost of his slain lover alita in the near background is a take on walaces death from braveheart.
while optimus using his anger rage and hate and channeling it throughout his dying body as a way for him to gain that last bit of desperate strength he needed to finish the fight is a take on that torture scene from rambo first blood part 2
it's the scene where the russian soldiers are torturing john with that electric generator while he was manacled to that metal frame bedpost and john instead uses the electric current to seriously jumpstart his body's testosterone system as a way for him to temperarily obost his strength so he could brake free of the manicles and hit back at the russain that was torturing him.
as for the whole ken / ryu style energy sphere attack i happen to be a huge fan of the street fighter anime series and video games
i got to thinking over time that their really is not much differance between ken or ryu pulling of that attack and optimus doing that whole open palm blast attack
so i figured hey why not make an improvement or 2 to that end scene in which optimus would get an additional line or 2 and at the same time make it clear that in the end megatron had changed him for the worst in the sense that optimus literally went into that final battle as one of the enemies own
in short optimus would become the very thing that he stood against throughout his lifetime
and at the same time it would add some additional depth to that line he spoke to magnus while on his deathbed that he himself was not worthy of bearing the matrix as the autobot leader.

Look man, I am sure you are trying to be flattering and all but all I have read in your comments are errors in spelling and grammar, no real grasp of the real subject matter and even displaying somebody else's art work on your DA page without their permission. For starters Optimus Prime was a vehicle to show truth and justice in ways characters like Dan Dare, the lone ranger and Superman have been used to do in the past in media, what made him different was that he was a literal leader of an army. As a symbol as such he wouldn't ponder how close he has become to being a Decepticon even if he indeed had (and let's be serious, where is your evidence for him being so?) especially as he had a fatal wound to his chest. Also the chances of Optimus Prime pulling of a Hadoken or any energy sphere attack than him going Super Saiyan!
Let's add one more point: IT'S A CARTOON! If you are going to write a fan fic base it on the source material, if you are going to have a DA page use your own material and if you are going to compliment somebody on their work then don't use it to springboard your own stories.
And the final point? Comparing Optimus Prime to Rambo is plain stupid. The last time I checked Optimus springing back to action was not even remotely like a former Vietnam Veteran angrily responding to a radio broadcast after being tortured on the electrified springs of an old mattress, if Prime is to compared to any American icon it oughta be John Wayne at least.

i'm not argueing with you man but for one the scene was meant to be a rienturpritation of optimus primes character.
for him the war has always been all to personal when it comes to the mutual enmity that exists between optimus and megatron.
for all the countless centuries and millinea those 2 have fought one another i would think that on some level a part of optimus would truly hate megatron on a personal level
that whole scene was meant to explore a side of primes character that has rarely been touched on over the years when it comes to the fact that each hero does have their own personel darkside.
how that person comes to terms with their darkside and also how that person uses it in life will in some large part determine the kind of tperson they are in life and ultimately determine in some part their fate in the afterlife
on that matter the way i see it a person can either learn to tame their darkside and use it as a so called forbidden strength of absolute last resort with said person using it in the name of the greater good and in doing so find a way to redeem their self as the person goes through with committing what will at the time be their final defining act in life
from a certain veiwpoint it can be a lot like how one uses a gun
to defend the lives of the innocent or to kill with when it comes to the person using it as a tool to forfill thier own corrupt ambitions in life
as for that bit about rambo it was one of 2 scenes i referanced in creating that whole scene where optimus experiences that whole dead mans dying vision bit
as for the whole torture scene from first blood part 2 it was the version of the scene from the book that first gave me the idea that the hero could not only have a darkside but could also use it as a form of forbidden strength for the hero to use in the name of the greater good
that whole scene where prime sees the ghosts of his slain friends comrades, and alita grieving in their death was based on this scene from braveheart

while the whole dead mans dying vision scene, primes personel greif, and his desire to avenge their deaths by sacrificing his life in the attempt are the very things that drove prime in the end to draw upon his inner darkside as a form of forbidden strength to finish the fight once and for all.

Right, let me make this very clear to you.
Transformers is one hell of a franchise, but the cartoons then (and the cartoons now) are aimed at young viewers, the plots are simple and market all manner of toys. As a fan I can look at these and appreciate what they are and what they do, but the fact is they are giant toy commercials, you won't get anything more thought provoking here than in any of The Hoff's "Hit Songs". Just as The Hoff has his fans so does Transformers, for it's mindless fun. In this form Prime is a lantern jawed hero, like the G.I Joe franchise (but with cool robots 
There are other mediums Transformers has been published in like comics, novels and I heard a little something about this hit movie where Optimus took on Agent Smith or something. Each are their own interpretation of the story/marketing device. Dreamworks, IDW and even Marvel have their own ideas, Marvel had two in two different countries! Prime has been a human, depressed, a messiah, an analyst, a bat, a lion and many other things.
The picture above is a homage to the movie, panel for panel, but taken at different angles and a labour of love from the artist himself. In as much it's his tip of the hat to THAT Optimus Prime, the one who was a hero to both him and I, due to this I even coloured this image as I actively collaborate with the artist and we're close friends. We have since collabed a picture of Optimus and will likely do it again as we both love Transformers and have a huge love of the characters. Your work is an interpretation, your own view and you argue it well, but this is Natephoenix's page for his work. You can say "Hey man, great pic." or "Dude, that sucks", you can even link to that story above on your own page, but what you do not do is come here and spotlight your own work. You have a DA page, put it there and then you can argue your point all you like. I will tell you now, even with your evidence, I do not agree with your view on the story, I can also tell you that my friend and collaborator on this page is another one and I am speaking on here as he refuses to argue your point for fear of offending you. Furhter more that "energy attack" in th clip you put in is no more related to a Hadoken than the Matrix of Leadership is divine intervention. They are both known as Dues Ex Machina due to poor story writing (which I'm sure I thought was very cool when I was 4).
On his behalf I ask you to please take your story off of the comments. Interpret anyway you like, I can appreciate you have your own views and want to voice them but his page is not for you to springboard your own fan fiction. If you wish to collaborate your work with his then ask him, don't just put it on here without permission. heres my take on the scene to go with your artwork
Despite the pain the movement caused him, Prime bent to retrieve his rifle Optimus picked up his blaster rifle, forgotten in the early moments of their struggle. The sun glittered on the polished barrel as he leveled it at the fallen warlord and took aim at the crippled Decepticon.. Megatron struggled to get to his feet but all he could manage was to get onto his hands and knees because of the pain and physical exhaustion. his breathing had become shallow and labored, his hull cracked and dented where he had scraped across the steel plates of the street, but even as he turned around to look into the looming barrel of Prime's gun, his cunning mind churned out a deadly solution to his problem. Megatron regained his senses, scanning quickly for a way to escape his predicament as he stares down the barrel of Optimus' rifle, Megatron's optics catch the glint of a discarded a laser gun lying hidden underneath a ripped chunk of metal rock. His calculating mind immediately lets him know what to do He begs, adopting an expression of fear on his face as Megatron stretched out a scuffed hand to Optimus in submission.
"No more, Optimus Prime!" he cried, feigning defeat as he raised the hand in protest. "Grant me mercy, I beg of you!" he cried as he bowed his head to the ground, throwing Autobots and Decepticons into confusion. Not lowering his rifle, Optimus' optics narrowed as he listened to Megatron's cry. Hot Rod saw the object of Megatron's desires as he ran up beside the Decepticon leader unobserved by either fighter. He'd be damned if he'd see Megatron play a dirty trick like this.every drop of hate in me screams do it anihilate him with my laser cannon and put the mad dog out of it's misery .
this is all there is for me. Prime thought. one battle after another, after another. the endless war, I'm a prisoner to this life... and Megatron holds the key to my freedom. if he dies ...i can rest. he thought Prime's optics dimmed and narrowed further. His voice was incredulous, tinged with pity as he trained his sights on the cowering Decepticon. Optimus sounds almost disgusted at the same time, as he shows no signs of backing down. "You who have killed so many, you who took her from me, you who are without mercy, now plead for it? I thought you were made of sterner stuff." Said Prime his words were cold as ice, as hard as metal, as bitter as a winter breeze, and as razorsharp as a knife his voice stern menacing even. for the very first time in his life megatron learned the true meaning of fear as prime strode over to him his heavy footsteps sounding like a thunderstorm to megatron's shell shocked bodily senses as optimus stood over him. for a second his thoughts waver between feighning defeat and truly admittting defeat. No, I am megatron and I fear nothing. Die you sanctimoneus heap of scrap Megatron thought as he suddenly makes a move for the gun, which Hot Rod's optics manage to see. His entire attention is on Megatron as he lunges for him,
"No you don't, Megatron!" Hot Rod yelled, leaping for the larger Decepticon. Megatron grabbed the Autobot and the gun, letting the former struggle vainly against him and cold fear ripped through him as Megatron's superior size and strength overcame him. "Out of the way, Hot Rod!" Prime ordered, his barrel swaying as Megatron and Hot Rod struggled, but he knew it was too late. his cannon wavering, Megatron smiled as the Decepticon wrenched Hot Rod into submission, one powerful forearm catching the young Autobot underneath the chin, gripping him tightly as he used HotRod for a living shield. Megatron knew that Prime would never shoot if it would put the young Autobot in danger, and he used it to his advantage as HotRod tried in vain to squirm free . Megatron fired into Prime's wounded torso area. Even though Megatron had overpowered the young Autobot pride filled his chestplate at Hot Rod's bravery even as he saw the deadly purple bolts fly from his enemy's concealed weapon. The last image Prime saw before the bolts made contact was HotRod's brilliant blue optics, shimmering as if they held unshed tears and pink smoke erupted from the blast wound, as his waste filters had become damaged "Fall! Fall!" he growled , as he fired again, and again as small explosions ripped through prime's body in undiscribable agony as his filters ignited and incinerated themselves from within as Megatron continued pouring laser energy into Optimus's now flaming torso wound. Another pierced the Autobot leader through much like the one that had claimed Ironhide and Ratchet. Optimus did as commanded. Fighting to stay alert, as he knows this would be his last battle. Battle lust filled Megatron's optics as he threw the young Autobot to the side like a rag doll.
Megatron grinned a wicked grin that spread over His cracked faceplate as Optimus, chest heaving, struggled to his knees despite wave after wave of excruciating pain. Megatron leered at his mortally wounded opponent. at long last nightbird i can lay your ghost to rest in peace he thought to himself
"I would have waited an eternity for this," "It's over, Prime." Optimus heard Megatron's voice, but it seemed so far away, so distant. "Crawl slave! on your knees! he gloated as he kept the gun trained on the Autobot leader despite being heavily damaged himself. Optimus struggled to his knees, balling his hands together for a final act of defiance as he gathers his remaining strength.He heard his own voice speaking to him. Youβve lost. Everything youβve worked so very hard for has been destroyed. everyone you knew and loved in life has been killed. Its all over. all over. Through the morning fog which covered the battlefield He caught a glimpse of Alita, staring at him. her optics closed in vain as she tried to hold back the tears which streamed down her face her head bowed in sorrow. he saw in the distance his friends and his comrades.they who had given their lives for the code and their beliefs. their faces and optics which had once burned bright in life with hope and determination, were now haunted with greif and sorrow. Alita... I failed them, ive failed you...I've been trying so hard to bring back my past. old friends, old ways. maybe this is what it brings in the heart of a dead city. no past but megatron's rule, no future but Megatron's fist. Event hrough all the pain i can still hear them screaming Avenge me, a million dead scream to me AVENGE ME. no. No. NO! Its not over! I MUST NOT GIVE UP. I CAN NOT GIVE UP! βI WILL NEVER GIVE UP!β my past is dead but I'm alive and i OWE the dead for that.
from somewhere deep in his mind, from somewhere in that faraway place of chrystalline concentration and groggy perceptions, in that far away place of dreams and courage he found a final last well. he had descended into the very darkness within himself, the deepest level. it was partly in his mind, partly in his chest, mostly in his soul. a black pit of hate, anger, rage, wrath, greif and despair. incredibly compressed by his desire and longing for peace, compacted under incredible pressure by his very morale beliefs, held in stasis by the very rigid discipline he had trained himself to posess as a warrior . the pit exploded with all the pent up emotion's he had held in check throughout the greater majority of his entire lifetime up to this moment. A sudden surge of raw distructive energy exploded within primes damaged body as power rerouted from one subsystem to another, his faltering lifesighns peaked dramatically. Optimus had the strength and the determination to do what was necessary now all he needed was the will. Optimus looked up at his age-old nemesis, gasping for breath as his injuries robbed his system of the oxygen it needed to combust energon. Silence spread like a stifling blanket over the battlefield, Prime's horrible gurgling wheeze the only sound echoing across the tarmac. Optimus Prime looked into the eyes of the enemy. He knew that he was the only one who could stop this carnage. He called on the last of his strength for one final blow. he knew he could do it, he could take the monster down optimus was an autobot for whom the word surrender truly had no meaning. The power was there gaining strength like a raging wild fire. the fire like will of determination was burning deep inside of him begging to be released like the throttle handle to a power generator bent on overload but after that he would be spent and it would be over for him. I'm gonna have to finish this now if I ever want to finish this at all, for elita, for primus, for the autobot code let there be peace. he thought to himself Then the heroic Autobot gathered all his strength for one word as he threw back his head and screamed from somewhere deep within his soul a primal scream so terrifying and sharp it cut through the tyrant like a stunning blow to the temple.
"N... never!" he yelled, gasping painfully, Linking his fists together, Prime swung his joined hands at the Decepticon's throat and made contact as he opens up on megatron from point blank range slamming both fists into Megatron's throat with a full circle round house punch as he bashes in the armor surrounding megatron's throat cutting of his ability to breath. the decepticon stumbled back 2 full steps as he brought his right hand up to his throat as he struggled to breath. the unintelligable sounds made by his airway as he attempted to draw breath sounded like a deathrattle. the momentary distraction was all the hesitation prime needed as he struggled to his feet. Turning his attention inward, he accessed the power of the Matrix. alitaβs last stand had provided the inspiration. All it took was the slightest thought β a line of coding, fed from his processor down a length of fibre-optic cabling and into his systems. A slight re-direction of power flow here, a minute telescoping of a ventilation funnel there, and Matrix energy flowed into his body.he cold actually feel the energy as it traveled from his chest to his shoulders through his arms and into his hands. Turning a sacred life force into a weapon was the easiest thing in the world for Optimus Prime. Suddenly, he felt his own Spark twitch and begin to move, inward, toward the sacred artefact. Through their mental link, somewhere in his mind he heard Magnus cry out. He knewβ¦ they both knewβ¦ what it meant. If a prime were to employ the Matrix in this fashion, to have it consume and destroy the enemy it would likely consume the spark of its gaurdian as well. Violence, he remembered, always had a consequence. Magnusβ voice whispered in his mind. This is the purpose, it said, for which Transformers like you and I were created. utilising the age old teachings of circuitsu he called forth energy from his very spark. matrix energy began to glow at his finger tips soft and white at first then with the color changing to a light bluish white as the power built up in intensity. lightning like pathways of energy began to arc back and forth as the energy increased. crackling and humming in near spider web patterns between his hands and fingers as the power built up in intesity and strength.The power doubled, then tripled, then swelled beyond measure. prime willed the energy to flow from his hands into a fiery blueish white spere hovering in the air between his hands as it materialised in the air. "DECEPTICONS, LEAVE THIS PLACE OR DIE" he screamed. the wind carries his words to every corner of the city. those of megatron's troops who were still alive looked on in shock, disbelief annd silence. the very sight of prime has chilled them to their very sparks. concentrating mightily he willed the energy to coalensce into a speroid like form of pure matrix energy as it hovered in midair between his hands.
i have tried reasoning with you, he thought silently to himself and i have tried making peace with you megatron. but the only language you will ever understand is violence. "you wanted power so badly megatron here" he spoke to his enemy as Optimus stopped hesitating and unleashed the full fury of the matrix The energy was blistering, and the temperature soared as the energy ball went soaring through the air at incredible speed. megatron had but a single moment to glimpse the ball of incredibly distructive energy as it sped towards him like a bolt of lightning before it exploded against his chest with a sound like thunder as it bashed the central portion of his chest inward completely ruining the purple decepticon insignia as it is peeled half away. The Decepticon leader went flying over the edge of the building, striking other ledges The impacts against more outcroppings of rock add to Megatron's damage, each resounding crunching noise, robbing him of energy and racking his being with pain as armor is sheared off by hard rocks Fracturing the sides which split , spilling wires, fuses, lights, circuitry Sparks fly from the many wounds and his battered armor leaks energon freely, then suddenly... the ground is gone and he finds himself falling and too weak to fly. before he finally crashed to the city street below. his body convulses and shakes like a puppet whos strings have become entangled trying to move, but his systems seem to be rebelling against him . on the cliff Optimus stands tall, armor damaged and bearing heavy wounds, Prime stands, silent vigil over the torn wasteland, His thoughts are almost those of someone in shock, 'is he really gone this time' he asks himself while making sure that Megatron had fallen.suddenly a tightening pain fills primes chest as he clutches his left hand to his fuel pump, his knees gave way as vertigo overcame him. and he collapsed on the cliff's edge. Prime tried to get to his feet and return to his own army--maybe Wheeljack could--no, Wheeljack was dead, Prime thought through a haze of pain, although it seemed his old mechanic friend beckoned from a distance He attempted to stand only to fall over onto his side. He knew that there was not much time left to him as he attempted to steady himself on one hand. . The advancing form melted into that of Hot Rod, As he stooped there he felt two hands come from nowhere to help him Hot Rod held his leader gently, and a look of blame and self-loathing filling his face. Prime tries to rise but collapses to the side and starts shaking uncontrollably like a boxer who's gone the distance over the years and has taken one too many blows to the head while pushing his body beyond it's limits. Optimus," he cried, "forgive me." the young one whispered, his voice almost a sob as he put his arm around his mentor's shaking shoulders. Hot Rod helped Optimus into a sitting position against a nearby wall. βHelp, somebody please helpβ, shouted Hot Rod!

WHAM!! Optimus swung his arms around, catching Megatron by Surprise, and his fists smashed into Megatron's chest, sending Megatron flying through the air, smashing into several blocks of metal and finally landing onto one of the metal platforms, utterly defeated.
I love the way you draw this part of the movie and dicpicted with the scene from slightly different angles with your own style. I really like the expression on Optimus Prime's face! The face of a determined leader who never gives up no matter the odds!!
I, for one, would really enjoy seeing more of this, espically in colour!!

Indeed it is cool. Transformers movie is one of the best animed movies ever. Even though it was done in the 80's, it's got great artwork and detail, and superb voice recordings and actors. Some of the best ever. Mwuahaha.

I love how you took this part of the movie and plyed with the scene from slightly different angles with your own style. I really like the expression on Hot Rod's face! At that part of the movie I just wanna yell at him for rushing in like that and getting in the way, but hey, Hot Rod does that!
